Get Regular Roof Inspections

Regular roof inspections can help detect problems while they are small. Keep in mind that roof leaks can cause water damage, which is a fire hazard. They can lead to issues in the electrical system in your attic and even wire shorting problems. 

It’s still possible for water to penetrate the junction boxes and insulation materials that protect wires. When water touches a live wire, it can cause a spark and ignite any flammable materials around it. It is just one reason you should get a roof inspection and do maintenance regularly. 

Keep Your Roof and Gutters Clean

Dried leaves, branches and other debris may catch fire and burn long enough for the roofing material to also ignite. One way to prevent this issue is by keeping your roof and gutters clean. Routine cleaning will help minimize debris accumulation on these parts of your house. 

Invest in Class A Roofing Materials

The three categories of fire rating for roofing materials are Class A, Class B and Class C. As much as possible, invest in a Class A roofing material, which is the most fire-resistant. Don’t go for unrated materials to reduce the risk of fire-related roof damage.
