Kris Laufenberg
Kris Laufenberg is the Owner of The Badger Company. He grew up in Waunakee area and graduated from the high school there in 2010. He worked his way through high school on a local dairy farm, and started his first roofing career as a laborer his senior year of high school. Kris worked his way up to crew foreman by the time he graduated from MATC in Business Management in 2013. Kris joined The Badger Company team in 2018 and successfully managed production, sales, and operations before becoming owner of the company in 2020.
He is certified and trained in a variety of products and installations including: Shingle Roofing, Metal Roofing, TPO and Rubber Roofing application, Attic Air Vent Ventilation, vinyl siding, James Hardie Fiber Cement, LP Smartside siding.
In his free time he enjoys traveling to new places and spending time outdoors with his Wife and their dogs. He enjoys sports, hiking, hunting and fishing.
Jeremiah Miller
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Jeremiah spent 10 years in Colorado before returning with his wife to raise their kids back in his hometown of Prairie Du Sac. As General Manager for the Badger Company, you will occasionally see him on jobsites communicating with crews and clients, but typically he is in the office making sure the company is operating smoothly across all levels of business.
Jeremiah has been in the contracting business for over 25 years and enjoys all aspects of the sometimes challenging, but extremely rewarding career. His background in leadership management, customer service, business operations, and construction trades has been a welcome addition to the Badger Company team. Jeremiah loves learning and currently holds multiple Wisconsin licenses such as: dwelling contractor, real estate, and lead renovator.
When he’s not at The Badger Company he spends his time with his wife, 2 kids, and their Goldendoodle enjoying the great Wisconsin outdoors. You can find them playing soccer, camping, mountain biking, and relaxing in the backyard around the firepit.
Megan Laufenberg
Megan Laufenberg is the Office Assistant for The Badger Company. You may hear her voice when you call into the office. She grew up in Cottage Grove and graduated from Monona Grove High School. She was in the dental field for 14 years and in 2021 decided to change her career and go to work with her husband Kris, who is the owner of the company.
In her free time she enjoys anything adventurous in the outdoors, dancing, spending time with her husband Kris and their three dogs River, Banks, and Kimber. She is a big animal lover and plans to get back into fostering dogs when the time is right with local rescues.
Tyler Homan
A Waunakee native, Tyler joined the Badger company back in 2021. As Production Manager for the Badger Company, he is in charge of managing the production process from start to finish and is in constant contact with crews, suppliers, and customers to ensure your project runs smoothly and that you are 100% satisfied with the end result.
Tyler’s favorite part of the job is being on site with the crews. The long hours and hard work is a lot easier when you’re taking on the challenge with friends. It also gives him a chance to continue working on his Spanish, which negates any difficulties of working with a language barrier.
When he’s not running our production team, you can catch Tyler biking around the Madison area with his wife and dog, Sir Wilbert; or up in the UP fishing and hiking with family.
Mike Phillips
Mike grew up in Lodi and graduated in 2011 when he started working in roofing. His skills started growing in the field with roofing and gutters before he became a foreman in 2016 and an estimator in 2019. Mike was brought on as an estimator for The Badger Company in early 2022. Mike is fully versed in Shingle Roofing, Metal Roofing, TPO, Rubber Roofing application, Attic Ventilation, Insulation, Vinyl Siding and James Hardie Fiber Cement.
He has been serving the Lodi community as a volunteer firefighter since 2011, he has been a captain since 2017 and has been very involved within the community.
In his free time he enjoys hiking the outdoors, taking care of his house plants, anything on wheels and snowboarding.
Steve Page
Born in Green Bay, WI, Steve moved to the Madison area at the age of 13 and attended Waunakee High School. After graduating, Steve received a degree in Printing and Publishing which led him to work for an industry leading printing company in Madison called Webcrafters. Steve worked at this facility for nearly 35 years in various capacities such as Billing, Outsourcing, Sales and finishing out his career as the Customer Service Manager. When the company closed its doors in 2024, he decided to move into a career in the building trades which had interested him for many years.
He is a self proclaimed “serious do-it-yourselfer” and has flipped homes, rebuilt classic cars and enjoys fixing anything broken. He even played lead guitar and sang for a local cover band called Heartbreaker for over 20 years. Steve currently serves as an Estimator for The Badger Company. He is GAF certified and is familiar with many different exterior products and applications.
He now lives in Sun Prairie with his wife and two teenage boys. When he’s not tinkering in his garage on trucks or muscle cars, he enjoys boating, camping, hunting, playing guitar, spending time with family and traveling.
Trenton Caldwell
As the newest Roofing Project Manager, Trenton Caldwell brings over 10 years of experience in the trades, with a strong focus on quality, teamwork, and dedication to delivering results. A proud father and husband, Trenton understands the value of family, hard work, and maintaining a balance between professional and personal life. With a passion for building and a keen eye for detail, he approaches each project with a commitment to excellence. When he’s not managing roofing projects, you’ll find Trenton enjoying time with his family, gaming, or continually striving to better himself in every aspect of his life.
Elizabeth Hockett
As Project Coordinator at The Badger Company, Elizabeth plays an important role in keeping projects organized and running smoothly. Her responsibilities include coordinating schedules, communicating with customers and crews, and supporting day-to-day operations. She takes pride in staying organized, solving problems and ensuring every project moves forward efficiently. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, and exploring the outdoors. She appreciates the opportunity to get away, make memories and spend quality time with the people closest to her.
Calvin Radka
Calvin Radka is a Project Manager with The Badger Company, bringing a background in architecture, construction, and project management to every job he oversees.
Originally from Greendale, Wisconsin, Calvin graduated from Greendale High School in 2017 before attending the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where he began studying mechanical engineering before earning his degree in Architectural Studies. After graduating, he moved to Madison and spent three years working at an architectural firm, gaining a strong understanding of how buildings come together, from their individual systems and building envelopes to overall performance and efficiency.
Calvin later joined a small, residential remodeling company, where he had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects throughout Dane County. It was there that he discovered how much he enjoyed the people side of the construction industry—getting to know homeowners, understanding their vision, and helping turn that vision into a finished product they could be proud of. That experience eventually led him into management and, ultimately, to his role with The Badger Company.
Today, Calvin enjoys being in the field, working closely with crews, and seeing projects come together from start to finish. He has developed expertise in residential and commercial roofing, as well as LP SmartSide and James Hardie fiber-cement siding. His ability to speak Spanish also helps him communicate effectively with the crews installing these products, keeping projects organized and everyone working toward the same goal. Calvin takes pride in approaching every project with honesty, diligence, and attention to detail—and in delivering work that he and The Badger Company can be proud to put their name on.
Outside of work, Calvin enjoys exploring Wisconsin, especially the Driftless Region, hiking, finding hidden local gems, and spending time with family and friends. He’s also passionate about reading, personal development, and continually learning new things. He believes in staying curious, never settling for “good enough,” and making the most of each day.
Nate Hopkins
Originally from Poynette, Wisconsin, Nate Hopkins serves as a Roofing Project Manager. In his role, Nate ensures smooth operations on every job site by coordinating materials, keeping crews supported, and maintaining clear communication across all phases of a project. He takes pride in a hands-on approach to leadership—never hesitating to put on a toolbelt whenever his team needs an extra set of hands.
Nate’s favorite part of the job is building strong relationships with his crews and understanding how each team works best. He brings a strong work ethic, a commitment to early starts, and a continuous desire to learn and improve every single day to ensure the highest quality results for clients.
Outside of work, Nate enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. A self-proclaimed gym rat and food enthusiast, he also embraces his Wisconsin roots with a well-known love for dairy products and chocolate milk.
